This second installment in the Clare Westbrook series is even better than it's predecessor!

Clare and Sonterra are clearly meant for each other. Their attraction and interaction are both razor sharp and addictive. Unfortunately, like any real couple, it seems like "life" is constantly standing in the way of their well deserved Happily Ever After. The very best thing about this novel is that these lovers decide to tackle their conflicts in a manner I don't ever believe I've read in a romance novel before. They decide to go away for the weekend and TALK about what they each want out of their relationship. Imagine that. Instead of just assuming they understand each other's motivations, or storming away after a petty misunderstanding - they talk to each other. How original! I loved it. And I couldn't help but root for them even harder.

While the first story in this series was weighed down by an overabundance of villians, this novel does a better job of keeping the plotlines more focused. I only wish the villians were the silent but deadly type. In my opinion, one of the few weaknesses of this series is the author's tendency to portray the villians in stereotypical caricatures with endless taunts, warnings, emails, and threats. I'd think that if somebody really wanted to kill you - they wouldn't warn you first. But in the end, once again I'm willing to suspend disbelief - accept that our killer gets off on the fear factor - and applaud as Clare and Sonterra outsmart each other and a few more killers. Overall, this is another great story that only needed a more menacing villian to earn a perfect 5 stars!

Greatly enjoyed this mystery--kept me reading to find out what was going to happen next.
Love her books.
This is the second of a three book series and I loved all three of them. It is a great story set right here in Arizona. Love the characters, love the plot. Linda's books are all good.

Book two was much better than book one (and book three is better than book two). Mystery, suspense, and romance. Love Tony --- Clair gets better with each book.
